The Tools page

Tools in the Recipe Kit navigation holds the bulk operations and the overviews: getting recipes in, getting them out, and seeing across your whole library at once.

Import and export

Import from your store

Scans the blog posts and pages already on your Shopify store, finds recipe content, and turns it into linked Recipe Kit recipes. Your original posts stay untouched.

Available on every plan. See Importing recipes you already have.

CSV import

Creates or updates many recipes at once from a spreadsheet, and can create the linked blog posts as it goes. Download the template first to see the format.

Paid plans only. See Bulk Recipe Import / Export.

CSV export

Downloads your recipes as a spreadsheet, filtered by status if you want. The export re-imports, which makes it useful for bulk edits and for backups as well as for leaving.

Recipe tools

QR codes

Generates a QR code pointing at your recipe blog, to print on packaging, shelf talkers, recipe cards or anything else physical. Scan it and the customer lands on your recipes.

Worth doing if you sell a physical product. A QR code on the back of a jar is one of the few ways to get someone who bought in a shop onto your website.

Keywords

Every keyword used across all your recipes, with the number of recipes each one appears on. Select a keyword to see exactly which recipes use it.

Two things this is good for:

• Finding inconsistency. gluten-free on eight recipes and Gluten Free on three means your blog filter only finds eight of them. Keywords sync to blog post tags, and Shopify treats those as different tags.
• Seeing your own library. A keyword on one recipe is usually either a typo or a gap worth filling.

Linked products

Every Shopify product linked to an ingredient or a piece of equipment anywhere in your recipes, with its current availability.

Select a product to see which recipes use it, swap it for a different product, or remove the link. That last part is the useful bit: when you discontinue a product, this is how you find and fix every recipe pointing at it, rather than opening them one at a time.
