Managing your subscription

Recipe Kit bills through Shopify. You change plan on Shopify's plan page, and charges appear on your regular Shopify bill. This article covers checking your plan, changing it, stopping payment and uninstalling.

See your current plan

1. Open Recipe Kit and go to Settings.
2. Scroll to the bottom. The Manage your plan card names the plan you are on. On the Free plan the card is called Upgrade your plan.

The Recipe Kit Addons card next to it is where you buy one-time add-ons. See Add-ons.

Change plan

1. Open Recipe Kit and go to Settings.
2. At the bottom, click View plans, or Upgrade plan on the Free plan. Shopify's plan page for Recipe Kit opens. Upgrade buttons elsewhere in Recipe Kit open the same page.
3. Choose a plan and confirm it.

Shopify's plan page shows current prices, trial terms, and when the change takes effect. An upgrade works as soon as you confirm it. Prices are also on the Recipe Kit listing on the Shopify App Store.

Stop paying but keep your recipes on your store

Switch to the Free plan. Your recipe cards keep showing on your store, and you keep all your recipes.

1. Open Recipe Kit and go to Settings.
2. At the bottom, click View plans.
3. On Shopify's plan page, choose Free and confirm.

The Free plan holds up to 5 recipes. If you have more, nothing is deleted and every recipe keeps showing, but you cannot create new ones. Paid features such as Add to Cart switch off. See The Free plan.

Uninstall Recipe Kit

Uninstalling removes Recipe Kit from your store straight away, and Shopify stops billing you for it. The Recipe Kit app block stops working, so recipe cards disappear from your blog posts, along with their ratings, Add to Cart buttons and Google Recipe Schema. The text you wrote in the blog post itself stays.

1. In Shopify admin, go to Settings > Apps.
2. Find Recipe Kit and click ... next to it.
3. Click Uninstall and confirm.

What happens to your recipes

They are kept. Your recipes, settings and blog post links stay in Recipe Kit after you uninstall. Reinstall Recipe Kit from the Shopify App Store and everything comes back as it was. About 48 hours after an uninstall, Shopify asks apps to erase personal data such as email addresses, and Recipe Kit does, but your recipes are not part of that.

If you are leaving because of a problem, contact support first. A lot of what people uninstall over turns out to be a setting or a theme conflict we can fix in a few minutes.

Free trial

New stores get a free trial on paid plans. The length and terms are on Shopify's plan page when you choose a plan.

During a trial you have the whole plan: create and publish recipes, test Add to Cart, look at analytics. Cancel before it ends and you are not charged.

Billing questions

Invoices. In Shopify admin, go to Settings > Billing for your bills, including Recipe Kit charges.

A payment failed. Update your payment method in Shopify admin under Settings > Billing.

Something looks wrong on a charge. Email [email protected]. Refunds follow Shopify's billing rules, but we will help you sort it out.
