Managing Your Subscription

Learn how to manage your Recipe Kit subscription, upgrade, downgrade, or cancel.

Viewing Your Current Plan

In Recipe Kit

  1. Open Recipe Kit
  2. Go to Settings
  3. View your current plan and features

In Shopify Admin

  1. Go to Settings > Apps and sales channels
  2. Find Recipe Kit
  3. View billing details

Changing Plans

Upgrading

To upgrade to a higher plan:

  1. In Recipe Kit, go to Settings
  2. Click Upgrade Plan or view plan options
  3. Select your desired plan
  4. Confirm the upgrade
  5. New features are available immediately

Billing on upgrade:

  • Prorated charge for remainder of billing cycle
  • Full charge starts next billing cycle

Downgrading

To downgrade to a lower plan:

  1. Go to Settings > Plan
  2. Select a lower tier plan
  3. Confirm the downgrade
  4. Change takes effect at next billing cycle

What happens:

  • Keep premium features until billing cycle ends
  • Features adjust at renewal
  • No partial refunds for current cycle

Billing Cycle

Recipe Kit bills through Shopify's app billing system:

  • Monthly plans: Billed every 30 days
  • Annual plans: Billed once per year (available for all plans)
  • Billing date: Based on when you first subscribed

Canceling Your Subscription

To Cancel

  1. Go to Shopify Admin
  2. Navigate to Settings > Apps and sales channels
  3. Find Recipe Kit
  4. Click to manage
  5. Select Cancel subscription
  6. Confirm cancellation

What Happens After Cancellation

  • Access continues until billing cycle ends
  • Recipes remain in your store
  • Widget stops displaying after access ends
  • Data is preserved for 90 days
  • Resubscribe anytime to restore access

Before You Cancel

Consider:

  • Downgrading instead of canceling
  • Reaching out to support with concerns
  • Pausing if temporary break needed

Free Trial

Trial Period

New users receive a 14-day free trial:

  • Full access to your selected plan's features
  • No charge until trial ends
  • Available on all paid plans

During Trial

  • Use all features freely
  • Create and publish recipes
  • Test Add to Cart, Analytics (Advanced and Enterprise)
  • No commitment required

After Trial

  • Choose a paid plan to continue
  • Or access ends
  • Recipes remain, but widget stops

Billing Issues

Failed Payment

If payment fails:

  1. Shopify notifies you
  2. Update payment method in Shopify admin
  3. Payment retries automatically
  4. Access may pause if payment fails repeatedly

Refunds

  • Contact support for billing issues
  • Refunds handled case-by-case
  • Shopify's refund policies apply

Invoice Access

Find invoices in Shopify Admin:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing
  2. View past invoices
  3. Download for records
