Translating Recipe Cards
Recipe Kit supports full translation of all recipe card labels, making it easy to serve international customers in their language.
How Translation Works
Recipe Kit's translation system lets you customize all text that appears on recipe cards:
- Section headers (Ingredients, Directions)
- Labels (Prep Time, Cook Time)
- Buttons (Add to Cart, Print, Share)
- Units (cups, tablespoons, minutes)
- Nutrition labels (Calories, Protein)
Your recipe content (titles, descriptions, ingredients, directions) is entered in your preferred language when creating recipes.
Accessing Translation Settings
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Language Settings or Translation
- Customize any labels
- Save changes

Translation Tips
Consistency
Use consistent terminology throughout:
- Same word for "add" across all buttons
- Consistent unit abbreviations
- Standard terms for your language
Length Considerations
Some languages have longer words:
- Test how translations fit in buttons
- Consider abbreviations if needed
- Check mobile display
Cultural Adaptation
Beyond translation, consider:
- Local measurement units
- Cultural food terminology
- Regional variations in language
Fields NOT Translated Through Settings
The following are part of your recipe content and should be written in your target language when creating the recipe:
- Recipe title
- Recipe description
- Ingredient names
- Direction/instruction text
- Recipe notes
- Custom field names
Testing Translations
After setting translations:
- Preview a recipe card
- Check all labels appear correctly
- Verify buttons have proper text
- Test on mobile for layout issues
- Review nutrition section if used
