Cook Mode
Cook Mode provides an optimized view for customers who are actively cooking, making it easy to follow recipes step-by-step.
What is Cook Mode?
Cook Mode transforms the recipe display into a cooking-friendly interface:
- Larger text for easy reading
- Step-by-step navigation
- Keeps screen awake
- Reduced distractions
- Optimized for kitchen use
Enabling Cook Mode
Cook Mode is enabled by default. To configure:
- Go to Settings
- Find Cook Mode
- Toggle on or off
- Customize button text if desired
- Save
How Customers Use It
Activating Cook Mode
- Customer views a recipe
- Clicks the "Cook Mode" button
- Recipe switches to cooking view
Navigating Steps
- Next Step: Tap/click to advance
- Previous Step: Go back
- Exit: Return to normal view

- Screen stays awake (on supported devices)

Each direction step displays:
- Step number prominently
- Direction text in large font

Customizing Cook Mode Text
Change the button text:
- Go to Settings
- Find Language Settings
- Customize "Cook Mode" text
- Save
For example:
- "Start Cooking"
- "Modo Cocina" (Spanish)
- "Begin Recipe"

Write Cook Mode-Friendly Directions
- One action per step
- Clear, concise language
- Include visual cues for doneness

Add Step Images
Step images (Advanced plan) enhance Cook Mode by showing:

Browser Support
Screen wake feature works on:
- Chrome (desktop and mobile)
- Safari (iOS)
- Edge
- Most modern browsers
Older browsers will still show Cook Mode but may not keep the screen awake.
