Recipe Kit Not Active on Your Theme / Disconnected Message
What Does "Recipe Kit is Not Active on Your Theme" Mean?
If you see a message in your Shopify admin saying "Recipe Kit is not active on your theme" or "Recipe Kit disconnected," the first thing to do is check whether your recipes are actually displaying on your storefront.
If Your Recipes ARE Showing on Your Live Site
Visit a blog post on your store that has a recipe. If the recipe card appears normally with ingredients, directions, and photos, then you can safely ignore this message.
This message only checks whether the Recipe Kit app block is added to your theme. It does not reflect whether your recipe cards are working. If you installed Recipe Kit via custom code (pasting Liquid snippets), you'll see this message even though everything is functioning correctly.
If Your Recipes Are NOT Showing
If visitors can't see recipe cards on your blog posts:
- Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize
- Navigate to a blog post template
- Click Add block and select Recipe Kit
- Click Save

Still Having Issues?
If your recipes still aren't displaying after adding the block, contact support with your store URL and let us know your installation method (app block or custom code).
