Recipe card translation does not work
Recipe Kit does not yet support Shopify’s Translate & Adapt framework, so recipe cards appear only in the language in which they were originally created. We’re actively building full integration, with an expected release window of late June → July 2025. Until then, automated recipe translation is unavailable.
1. What you’ll see today
- If your store has multiple languages enabled (e.g., German and Dutch), the recipe content stays in its original language.
- Blog-level and Shopify theme translations still work—the limitation is specific to the recipe block generated by Recipe Kit.
2. Why can’t Recipe Kit translate recipes right now?
Separate content model
Recipe cards are stored as Shopify metafields rather than in the standard Shopify blog body HTML.
New Shopify APIs
Shopify’s Translate & Adapt API was released after Recipe Kit’s current version. We need to migrate our data layer to hook into those endpoints.
SEO & structured-data parity
We’re ensuring translated recipes keep correct schema markup (so Google and Pinterest read them as separate, localized recipes).
